Along with Annie Lush, sisters Lucy and Kate Macgregor made up top British Women's Match Racing team the 'Match Race Girls.' Together the girls gained National, European and World Championship titles and in September 2011 the trio were selected to represent Team GB at London 2012 - making history as the only female sailing sisters to compete together at the same games. After a great start to the week the Team Volvo sailors finished their debut Games in seventh overall, narrowly missing out on a semi-final place after a controversial judging decision. The young sailors are now looking ahead to new challenges on the water - the Nacra 17 and Women's 49er FX.

Lucy
Lucy helmed onboard the Elliot 6m and at the start of 2013 turned her sights to catamaran sailing, and the new mixed Nacra 17 Olympic class, for Rio 2016. She has teamed up with 2006 ISAF Youth World Champion, Tom Phipps who undertook an Olympic Torando campaign for Beijing 2008 'It has been pretty interesting having a go at the cat sailing! The new Nacra 17 boats only arrived in January and we had our first experience of competitive racing at the Princess Sofia Regatta, Palma in March where we finished 5th overall. They are awesome fun, but a lot faster than what I'm used to!'
Kate
Kate was the Bowman onboard the Elliot 6m and has now turned her attentions to the new Women's 49er FX “It’s so different from what I'm used to; twin trapeze, asymmetric and very quick! It's awesome fun and I'm loving the new challenge.” Along side her new rio 2016 Olympic campaign she is also finishing the final year of her Business Management degree at Southampton Solent's university.
